For yet another week, The Big Bang Theory emerged as Canada’s No. 1 show, an indicator that we enjoy clever, well-written comedy — or perhaps we’re just a bunch of nerds. Either way, the May 10 episode topped the Canadian ratings with more than 4 million viewers nationally.
This was more than twice as many who tuned in to see the carnage on the penultimate episode of Grey’s Anatomy, which attracted just over 2 million to become the week’s No. 2 show.
The big story in the May 7-13 weekly ratings, however, is the continued popularity of Survivor here in Canada. In the U.S., the finale of this season’s “One World” edition was the lowest-rated Survivor finale ever — even host Jeff Probst, in an inteview with Enterainment Weekly, called this season “a bit of a letdown.” Here in Canada, however, the two-hour finale was the week’s No. 3 show, with more than 2 million of us watching Kim Spradlin take home the million-dollar prize.
Other top performers for the week were the Wednesday-night American Idol performance show and episodes of CSI and The Mentalist.
