According to a poll commissioned by CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair for its upcoming comedy-themed issue, Seinfeld edged out The Honeymooners as the greatest sitcom of all time, with 23 per cent of respondents listing the famed “show about nothing,” while 20 per cent indicated their fondness for Ralph Kramden.

Friends and Cheers were also popular, earning 16 per cent and 14 per cent of the vote respectively, while Arrested Development received seven per cent, The Mary Tyler Moore Show six per cent and 30 Rock five per cent.

In other highlights from the poll, 60 per cent of respondents — including females — believe men are funnier than women, 22 per cent believe Q to be the funniest letter in the alphabet, while only 14 per cent knew who Knocked Up director/writer Judd Apatow is — although three per cent believe he was a country-music singer from the ’70s.
