Game of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

The second chapter of George R.R. Martin’s epic saga manages to top the superlative first season, and these 10 episodes are some of the best television ever produced. As in the previous release, this one features an array of special features, including the 30-minute documentary Creating the Battle of Blackwater Bay, a roundtable discussion with the cast and showrunners, audion commentaries from stars (including Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke) and producers, and a featurette about the various religious beliefs of Westeros. On the blu ray, there are some special blu-ray exclusive features, including Easter eggs, an interactive guide to the wars fought by the five wannabe kings and a series of animated history lessons to provide background that will enrich the viewing experience. Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome

This Battlestar Galactica prequel originally aired as a 10-part online series, and these episodes are linked together for this standalone movie. The plot follows young William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), a young pilot fresh out of the Academy who is assigned to serve on the fleet’s newest battlestar, Galactica, when the first Cylon War breaks out. The Naked City: Fan Favorites

This anthology series ran from 1958 until 1963, focusing on a New York police officer (played in the first season by James Franciscus) but really telling the stories of the people involved. The format lent itself to an endless parade of guest stars, and the show proved to be a launching pad for an extraordinary array of young talent, including the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, William Shatner, Christopher Walken and Robert Duvall. The complete series has yet to be released on DVD, but this five-disc set compiles 20 “fan favourite” episodes of this iconic TV drama from the s0-called “golden age” of television. (Paradox)
