Do you speak fluent Klingon? Do you wear glasses that are held together with duct tape? Can you recite the entire Night’s Watch oath from Game of Thrones? Then you have a decent shot at being crowned King of the Nerds in a new reality show set to debut in January.
The aptly titled King of the Nerds will be hosted by former Revenge of the Nerds stars Robert Carradine and Curtis “Booger” Armstrong, with a judging panel comprised of Star Trek‘s George Takei and Jay and Silent Bob stars Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes deciding which of the 11 competitors excel in a series of nerdy challenges designed to test their “intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture prowess,” with the nerdiest winning a US$100,000 cash prize.
King of the Nerds will premiere Thursday, January 17 on U.S. cable channel TBS; no word yet on whether it will be picked up by a Canadian broadcaster, although given the phenomenal success of The Big Bang Theory with Canadian viewers, it would seem like a natural.
