TV viewers must have felt the lack of excitement with last night’s offerings, which apparently didn’t afford much to tweet about.

On the network side, the No. 1 spot went to a CBS rerun of The Big Bang Theory, with 55,671 tweets. Meanwhile, Fox debuted two new dating shows last night, and the series premiere of Take Me Out landed in the No. 2 spot with nearly 48,000 viewers taking to Twitter to comment on the George Lopez-hosted dating game show in which 30 apparently desperate women indulged in an hour of televised speed dating. Fox’s other dating show didn’t fare as well: The Choice, a sort of a cross between The Voice and The Dating Game but with D-list stars, came in at sixth place with about 28,000 tweets.

Other highlights from last night include  a new episode of Duets, ABC’s new singing competition, taking second place with just over 39,000 tweets; new episdoes of Rookie Blue and Breaking Pointe taking seventh and eighth place, respectively; and the premiere of Saving Hope, the CTV-NBC mash-up of Ghost and Grey’s Anatomy, at No. 9.

It’s interesting to note that when you combine the volume of tweets for last night’s entire network top 10, it’s still considerably less than the number of tweets for Twitter’s No. 1 cable broadcast: the Celtics-Heat NBA playoff game, which racked up more than than 950,000 tweets.
