Forbes has released its every-popular list of “The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities,” and the results are somewhat surprising.
The list ranked celebrities’ power positions based on five different criteria: money rank, TV/radio rank, press rank, web rank and social rank. When all these are combined, weepy American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez somehow emerged as the world’s most powerful celebrity.
Oprah Winfrey landed at second place, followed by Justin Bieber (No. 3), Rihanna (No. 4), Lady Gaga (No. 5)., Britney Spears (No. 6), Kim Kardashian (No. 7), Katy Perry (No. 8). Tom Cruise (No. 9) and Steven Spielberg at No. 10.
In the world of television, Celebrity Apprentice star Donald Trump landed at No. 14, Simon Cowell at No. 18, Ryan Seacrest edging out Howard Stern (at No. 29 and No. 30 respectively) and Ellen DeGeneres at No. 34.
Other TV-related names on the list: David Letterman (No. 41); Ashton Kutcher (No. 51); Law & Order creator Dick Wolf (No. 54); Survivor/The Voice exec producer Mark Burnett (No. 62); Jerry Seinfeld (No. 64); Khloe Kardashian Odom (No. 73); Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane (No. 74); Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara (No. 76); Alec Baldwin (No. 78); Eva Longoria (No. 81); Hugh Laurie (No. 88); Tina Fey (No. 93); Ray Romano (No. 95); Zooey Deschanel (No. 96); former Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel (No. 97); Tim Allen (No. 98); and Melissa McCarthy (No. 99).
