With an uncluttered field of competition, last night’s broadcast of the BET Awards was last night’s most tweeted-about show, with more than 161,000 tweets. Hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, the award show featured Kanye West premiering a new song, an a cappella of a tune called “New God Flow.”

Coming in at second place was ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ which continues to have a strong social-media presence, followed by the always-popular ‘SpongeBob SquarePants.’

Network television offerings were far less popular on Twitter, with the top show — ‘America’s Got Talent’ racking up just over 30,000 tweets. Other network broadcasts that made waves on Twitter included ‘MasterChef’ (which also had more than 32,000), ‘The Catalina’ (29,024) and ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ (20, 924).
