Have you ever wondered just how many planes fly into major city airports each day?
Cy Kuckenbaker, a photographer and film teacher in San Diego decided to get to the bottom of it by creating a short 26 second film that captures planes flying over a bridge near San Diego International airport. Inspired by a composite photograph he’d seen by Ho-Yeol Ryu of planes taking off at Hannover Airport, Kuckenbaker continuously filmed planes from 10:30 AM to 3 PM on one of the busiest days of the year (November 23rd, i.e., Black Friday) and layered the film on top of itself so it looks like a mad mob of planes all flooding the sky at once.

If you’re already afraid of flying, this may be just the video to prevent you from ever getting on a plane again, but otherwise, you have to admit it looks kind of cool – and keep in mind, they weren’t actually all flying at the same time!
