Luxury comes at a high price on Italy’s popular Mediterranean island.
In a survey conducted by luxury-hotels.com a few weeks back, Le Dune Hotel in Sardinia’s Forte Village Resort came out on top with an average standard room running US$2,539 a night. Following relatively close behind was the Royal Mansour in Marrakech at US$2,060 a night and fellow Sardinian getaway, Hotel Pitrizza at US$2,041 a night.
So what does $2,539 a night get you?
According to the website, the resort has 21 restaurants, first-class personal service and VIP treatment. The surroundings offer an idyllic blend of tropical nature, silence and luxury. All suites have a twin or double bedroom and an open-plan living area and either a patio, private garden or panoramic terrace. Some even have private pools.
