So, the world didn’t end.

This morning, revelers gathered by the thousands at the famous Stonehenge monument in the English county of Wiltshire to watch the sunrise. Some were there to celebrate the winter solstice (as they do every year), but many came because they believed it to be the end of days.

For months we’ve been hearing all kinds of terrifying stories about the Mayan calendar coming to an end on December 21st and what that would mean for the rest of the world. It’s believed that close to 5,000 people came out this year, a massive influx from previous years.
