While most of Eastern Canada is buried under a thick layer of snow this morning, I thought it would be fitting to feature an artist who lives for days such as these!
Taking snow angels to the next level, British ‘snow’ artist, Simon Beck, started making ‘snow art’ in 2004 after purchasing an apartment in Les Arcs, France. A ski resort located in the Tarentaise Valley of Savoie in the heart of the French Alps, the area is covered in a thick blanket of fresh, untouched snow during the winter months. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to do something creative.
An orienteering map-maker by day, Beck arms himself with some warm winter woolies, a set of snow shoes, an orienteering compass and some string before heading out. Most of his designs resemble snowflakes with varying degrees of complexity.
