Considered extremely rare and even more elusive, wildlife videographer, Dr. Jyrki Hokkanen got a pleasant surprise last week when a Sunda clouded leopard wandered into his camp in Borneo. Characterized by the unique cloud-like pattern of their spots, the medium-sized cats are believed to be numbered at less than 20 in the area.
Check out his footage below:
Though Hokkanen admits his camera was quite a distance from the animal, the shy reclusive creature seems surprisingly calm under the lights from the camera. Perhaps we’ll be seeing more of these unique cats after all.
