Heading to Mexico this winter? The Mexican Consulate has released some new regulations that might cause a hiccup in your journey.
According to their website, as of November 9th, any minors (Mexican or Canadian) travelling alone or with someone other than their parents will now require a consent form that has been translated into Spanish, notarized and then approved by the Mexican Consulate or Embassy. Failure to provide this could result in the minor being refused entry into the country.
Global TV in BC reported that Susan McNally and her grandchildren were refused entry on an Air Transat flight to the sun destination because their letter of consent had not gone through this rigorous process.
Something to keep in mind before heading south!
