When you live in Canada, going camping for a weekend is a national past time. Between Algonquin Park, the Okanagan Valley, Banff, Cape Breton and Gros Morne, there are tons of lakes where you can easily pitch up a tent and call it a day.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of camping, but when it comes to packing up the car, praying it won’t rain, setting up the tents, gathering firewood, praying again that it won’t rain and then having to cook for yourself only to realize that you’ve forgotten something essential like matches, is just a little more work then I’m willing to put forth for an apparent vacation.
Recently I stumbled on the website GoGlamping.net which puts the “glam” in camping!
Forget setting up your own tent and worrying about meals. These 5-star luxury camps have it all from yurts, tipis and safari tents with real beds, 1,000 thread count linens, gourmet meals and breath-taking views.
It may not be camping in the traditional sense, but it’s the kind of camping I can get on board with.
