Pair a famous architect with a mega mansion in the Hollywood hills and you’ve got a luxury getaway!

Spotted on my favourite holiday rental site, AirBNB, the famous Sowden House designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright is available to rent for $2,573 a night. Okay, that may sound a little steep, but considering it’s location in the celebrity hotbed of Los Feliz and the fact that the home is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Los Angeles, it may be worth it.

Sowden House is named after it’s original owner, John Sowden, an artist and close friend of FLW who commissioned the architect to build the home in the mid-1920′s. Known for it’s unique ‘blocky’ facade that has been described as a cross between a Mayan temple and pixelated open mouth of a shark, the house has earned itself the nickname ‘Jaws House’ – no relation to the movie.

The 6,000 square foot house sleeps six and has perks like a grand piano, outdoor fire pit, koi pond, 500 gal salt water aquarium and an 360 degree inner courtyard that will make you feel like you’re on the set of Scorsese’s The Aviator – which was actually shot on location here in 2004.
