This morning I came across this video that was shot by film maker Chris Tangey who is based out of Alice Springs in Australia’s red centre. The video, shot September 11th, shows a tornado of red dust that suddenly bursts into a spiraling flame near the famous Ayer’s Rock (now referred to as Uluru). Shoot up more than 100 feet this type of phenomena rarely lasts more than a few seconds making it difficult to capture.

Since releasing the footage on his Vimeo page, Tangey’s video went viral.
