This July in London, the athletes won’t be the only spectacle on display. Dutchman Johan Huibers has constructed a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark that he hopes to sail into London in time for the Olympic games.

Based on the biblical Ark built by Noah in Genesis, Johan’s Ark is approximately 30 metres wide, 23 metres high and 135 metres long. Huibers, a contractor from a small village in the province of North Holland, was inspired to build the Ark after having an apocalyptic dream where waves from the ocean washed over the Netherlands during a storm.

The Ark is meant to act as a religious amusement park for kids with displays of various live animals and replicas, presentations about Noah’s history, paintings and  two large amphitheaters for concerts, musicals and informative talks.
