It seems the athletes pouring into London aren’t the only ones getting ready for the Olympics.

Early yesterday morning, images of Olympic-themed wall art appeared on legendary graffiti artist Banksy‘s website spurring a flurry of controversy.

An athlete tossing a missile and a pole vaulter are believed to be a response to London’s recent crack down on street art in preparation for the 2012 Summer Games.

Last week, well-known street artists including Darren Cullen were arrested as part of a ban on street art at Olympic venues.

Stay tuned to see how London responds to this most recent Banksy antic.
