The next big film and television technology trend will likely be 4K resolution video. So far, we’ve only seen giant, pricey cameras like the RED Epic that shoot 4K resolution footage – until now. Point Grey’s Flea3 webcam (which contains a Sony Exmor R sensor) lives up to its insect-inspired name, as it is extremely miniscule in size.
At about an inch in every direction, the square-shaped camera pushes video to any compatible USB 3.0-equipped device in real time, which requires a decent amount of bandwidth.
Resolution isn’t what makes a video, so don’t expect to shoot the next ‘Titanic’ on here or anything. But is a boost in size and clarity is what you’re looking for then this camera might do the trick for you!
The price tag is a little steep at $945. And while it’s really neat, the majority of interested buyers will probably consist of businesses for video conferencing or surveillance.
