This week’s been pretty eventful for everyone’s favourite micro-blogging platform, Twitter. First, they gave their logo a minimalist makeover. Now, they’ve just confirmed improved Facebook integration of usernames, #hashtags, and photos!
What does that mean, exactly? Glad you asked. Basically, Twitter has quietly tweaked the way we cross-post our Twitter-related handles, hashtags, and content to Facebook. So, Facebook will now generate relevant links based on the tweets being pulled in. Forexample, usernames will reveal links to users and hashtags will link to conversations.
“The updated Twitter for Facebook integration now includes additional rich media experiences related to the first photo, URL, @mention or #hashtag in the cross-posted tweet,” said Twitter spokesman Robert Weeks.
This new update is available to everyone, unlike the usual ‘slow roll-out’ route.
