Young inventor Seth Froom is the mind behind the Yellow Jacket iPhone case. The predatory name is appropriate, given that the $125 case features a 650K volt stun gun on it, in addition to its own external battery, which can extend your phone’s battery life by 20 hours. Froom claims the phone can take down a “fully aggressive adult male.” Froom came up with the idea for the case after an armed robber broke into his home and stole cell phones, laptops, and other gadgets from him and his friends.

I’m not an doctor or anything, but I’m pretty sure inventing protective phone cases that double as weapons isn’t the healthiest way of coping with a traumatic incident. I’m also pretty sure I don’t want to accidentally volt myself unconscious trying to hit snooze on my iPhone’s alarm in the morning.
