Facebook has a loyal base of 800 million active users worldwide that obsessively update their walls with photos, statuses, comments, and check-ins to locations. When numbers get that high, it becomes very difficult to understand the true scope of them.
That’s why Justin Moore, a data scientist at Facebook, decided to update the company’s data blog with a set of stunning images that help process that amount of interaction with the social networking site.
Moore used a Java-based applet called ‘Procesing’ to create the striking – and informative – imagery.
