NASA administrator Charles Bolden will forever go down in history as the man behind the first human voice transmitted from Mars! Bolden had the honour of chatting up the solar system yesterday from the Curiosity rover.
The gist of his one-minute-long speech is that he spent 30 seconds thanking everyone involved in the project, and 30 seconds shamelessly bragging that we landed a rover on Mars, which – in his defence – is pretty freaking cool.
Bolden pre-recorded the message on Earth before it was beamed back by Curiosity, and it was sent back with new photos of Mars’ terrain.
