Brooklyn multi-instrumentalists The Dirty Projectors are back with another game-changing album. Swing Lo Magellan, the band’s third album, is full of dizzying orchestral turns and multi-group harmonies. It’s an album that flirts with the traditions of classical music and George Gershwin musicals, but also says something immediate about contemporary society rendered through a tribal indie rock lens. Over at the New York Times website, you can hear an early stream of the record. This summer the band will also release a short film directed by frontman Dave Longstreth titled Hi Custodian, inspired by the music from the album. Watch the trailer below.
