Southern real-life bros by day, scraggly lighter-up rockers by night, rock duo JEFF The Brotherhood are known for their anthemic, shaggy indie rock that’s readymade for pounding brewskis. They’ve injected a little dudeliness into today’s music landscape – a good thing – and have returned with an accessible follow-up produced by The Black Keys’ guitarist Dan Auerbach. Over at NPR, listeners can stream the band’s Hypnotic Nights early in full. It’s a cheery, lowbrow return to the guileless days of rock n’ roll where a band can write an affront to laziness (barn-burner “Staring At The Wall”), as well as covering Black Sabbath metal ballad “Changes.”
