Dreadlocked rocker Lenny Kravitz, 48, has earned his first lead role after playing supporting characters in the likes of Zoolander (as himself) and Hunger Games (as the games’ outlandish announcer). He will take on soul music legend Marvin Gaye in an upcoming biopic directed by Julien Temple (known for music documentaries on The Sex Pistols and The Clash). While Gaye’s life story is clouded in incredible success and trauma, perhaps Kravitz’s secret acting talent will lead him to a Ray-style big break. As for Gaye, whose artistic breakthroughs ended with being killed by his own father, the story has Oscar written all over it.
