The battle between U.S. birthers and Liberals has turned into a battle royal between competing TV personalities.
In an odd twist on an ongoing battle between TV personalities, Donald Trump is asking the host of Real Time With Bill Maher to pony up the cash after Maher made a derogatory comment about The Apprentice host on Jay Leno’s, Tonight Show.
Maher said last month on Leno that he’d give Trump $5 million to donate to charity if he could prove he wasn’t the offspring of an orangutan. The comment was a mocking quip responding to a statement Trump made back in October, saying he’d donate $5 million to charity if President Barack Obama would release copies of his passport and college records.
Trump has gone on record in the past with comments that President Obama isn’t a legal citizen of the U.S. and disputed that he was actually born in Hawaii.
In response to Maher’s comment, Trump sent over a copy of his birth certificate (despite the fact this was obviously just a biting barb aimed at Trump). Now the off-kilter real estate and media mogul is threatening to sue Bill Maher if he doesn’t make good on his promise to pay him the $5 million.
