A Calgary student angry that Mount Royal University increased fees for students paying with credit cards decided to pay his tuition in 105 kg of coins.
The student’s frustration came from a new fee $60 fee being passed on to students who use their credit cards to pay tuition.
The university says it’s saving roughly $500,000 dollars a year by charging students. So the new policy might work for the university, but not for students who already face ever-increasing tuition fees.
As for now, 90 per cent of Mount Royal University students pay with credit cards.
I hope the registrar’s office brought some heavy duty bags.
