Once again, Ontario’s tax incentives have attracted another industry traditionally settled in other Canadian cities.
Rockstar Games, the maker of the wildly popular Grand Theft Auto franchise of video games, will be closing its award-winning Vancouver office in the coming months.
The New York-based video game creator has chosen to consolidate its operations in Ontario, where it will expand its Toronto office and build a custom office in Oakville.
The 35 employees based in Vancouver were offered positions in Ontario or elsewhere in the company.
Rockstar cited Ontario’s tax incentives and financial support as the reason for the cross-country move.
