Despite the new $20 bills going into circulation earlier this month, you might want to keep a few old bills in your wallet.
Some Canadians are finding that the new bills are not accepted in many terminals, including Vancouver’s TransLink and Toronto’s Go Transit terminals.
The new polymer notes have more security features, are more durable and offer accessibility features for the blind.
Hopefully, the respective companies will work with the Bank of Canada to update their machines. Until then, it might be useful to keep your old bills or your standard credit cards on you.
