Last week, Canada Post delivered one million parcels and set a record for the busiest day in the Crown Corporation’s history.
This bodes well for Canada Post and could translate into a profitable year. Last year, the government-run organization posted a $253-million loss. It was the first time in 16 years the corporation ended its year in the red.
With plans to deliver another 4.4 million parcels by Chirstmas Eve, the corporation still has a lot of work left this year.
On a side note, this may also be a sign that the Canadians are feeling better about their finances enough to resume sending holiday gifts.
Here’s hoping to a happy holiday for Canada Post.
