The newest iteration in the “Call of Duty” video games series has broken previous sales records in a single day of sales.
Within 24 hours of releasing “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” the game had raked in an estimated $500 million in revenues.
Activision, the maker of COD, by comparison made $400 million within 24 hours of its last game “Call of Duty: Modern Warefare.”
Despite the stellar sales, the company remains “cautiously optimistic” about the remainder of 2012 and 2013. The trepidation might be warranted as more video game creators move from building console games into mobile games.
