Because holding the world record for fastest tightrope walk over a 100 meter span (which he did in 44.63 seconds in 2009) just isn’t good enough, Chinese acrobat Aisikaier Wubulikasimu tried to get into the Guinness Book of World Records a second time—this time for tightroping backwards with a blindfold on across a 650 foot gorge. Although he didn’t succeed, he may have broken another record by accident—first acrobot to fall 132 feet into a ravine and walk away with only minor injuries.

Aisikaier was on the tightrope for 50 minutes before the fall and had just 131 feet to go. Aisikaier blames the fall on a sudden gust of wind, which he says made him feel dizzy.
