By now, everybody knows that if you’re looking for corruption the place to be is the Quebec construction industry, where a shocking number of projects are overseen by the friendly neighbourhood mob.

Say what you will about the Mafia, though – even they wouldn’t have done something like this. On Highway 251 in the Eastern Townships, the transportation modified the roadway to eliminate a dangerous curve. Nobody bothered to loop Hydro Quebec into the plans though, so they ended up with a hydro pole dangerously (yet also hilariously) located smack in the middle of the highway.

Ridiculously, there the pole lived for two whole months until it was finally taken down this week. Luckily, it didn’t cause any accidents.
