Meet Rachel. She’s young, sweet, cute as a button, charmingly polite. and has a really strong singing voice. This combination alone makes her an obvious choice to be a contestant on France’s Got Talent. Heck, maybe even to win it. There is one caveat, mind you: when I say she has a ‘strong’ singing voice, I mean that literally. Her pipes are impressive to say the least. Perhaps, uh, too impressive?
I’m being coy here — deliberately so. My point is this: sweet young Rachel’s audition isn’t remotely what you’re expecting it to be. Remember when Susan Boyle stunned Britain’s Got Talent’s panel of judges with her whole “don’t judge a book by its cover” shtick? Rachel’s story is kinda like that. Only more, uh, dramatic. Of this, more I cannot say. Just trust me.
