Not only does Bonedigger not eat Milo, but he also lets Milo play dentist ...

Milo and Bonedigger are best friends. The two have been practically inseparable since Bonedigger was born five years ago. Here’s the thing: Milo is a tiny Dachsund and Bonedigger is a grown lion, a species that could easily fit a tiny Dachsund in its mouth. But not only does Bonedigger not eat Milo, he also lets Milo play dentist—a game which the fearless Milo seems all too eager to play.

The lesson to take away from all this: Lions are perfectly harmless creatures, and you can place your head right next to a lion’s mouth with absolutely no negative consequences.

They go by many names: lighttoys, light gear, light sticks. The official name? Visual Poi V2. Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but when you look this cool, you really don’t care what folks think. The concept: LED-infused sticks that display any image, text, or logo you send their way.

You can use ‘em in the day

You can use ‘em in the night

You can stick ‘em underground

You can fly ‘em on a kite.

Okay, now that I’ve got the Dr. Seuss out of my system, it’s time for the sticker shock. $1500. Per stick! That ain’t exactly chump change, fella. But hey, if you’re looking to advertise the crap outta your business, tear up a mid-’90s warehouse rave, or stage a magic show you’re (mistakenly) convinced will drive da ladies wild, the Visual Poi V2 is your baby, baby!

Last week, nine-year-old Alayna Adams was invited to throw out the first pitch at the Rays-Red Sox game in Florida on behalf of the USO.

Alayna’s father, Army Lieutenant Colonel William Adams, was wrapping up a one-year deployment in Afghanistan, and just before her pitch a video from him was played in which he said he’d see her soon.

He definitely lived up to that promise:

Looking to set Canadian/US relations back 200 years? Try this ...

Hot Memorial Cup action! May 18th — Halifax vs Portland. The lovely Alexis Normand lends her beautiful pipes to each country’s respective national anthem. O Canada goes off with nary a hitch. Unfortunately, The Star Spangled Banner doesn’t fare quite as well. Admittedly, it’s long been considered one of the harder anthems to pull off, what with the minimum octave-and-a-half range required for the job.

This isn’t a problem for Ms. Norris, mind you. The issue at hand involves the lyrics. Specifically, their complete memorization. You see, without that, an anthem singer may find herself in front of 15,000 rabid hockey fans, frantically inserting a series of placeholder words into a well-known and highly-beloved ditty. Were that, in fact, to happen, I suspect the end result might look a little something like this…

Science ain’t exactly my thing. For instance, I scored a not-so-impressive 3% on my 9th grade physics exam. Worse still, I studied hard for the damn thing. Meanwhile, chemistry is like physics’ equally high-maintenance cousin. So much to learn, so little to understand. Fortunately, when it comes to acquiring knowledge, a little music can go a long way. Which brings us to the new Periodic Table Song.

For those of you who’ve forgotten — or deliberately repressed — your high school chemistry curriculum, the periodic table lays out all known chemical elements, be they naturally occurring or man-made (‘Californium,’ anyone?). There are a lot of them — too many, if you ask me. Fortunately, this catchy tune will give you the mad skillz to differentiate your molybdenum from your neodymium (as well as their corresponding atomic weights, naturally — duh!). Learn it, sing it, live it, love it. Nerdiness has never been hipper!

Bowl + broom + water = recipe for vengeance! ...

Playing pranks on roommates is never not a fantastic idea. I shared a house with four other students in my university days, one of whom owned a creepy three-foot clown doll for some random reason. So to be a jackass, I’d systematically place it in areas guaranteed to provide maximum heebie jeebies. One time Psycho the Clown (as we lovingly named him) found his way in roomie Lisa’s shower. On another occasion, roomie Jason woke up from a nap to find its dead-eyed clown face peering directly into his soul.

Sweet revenge was theirs though. Waking up freezing cold one morning at 3am, I trekked across my dark room to fetch a blanket from the closet. Upon opening the door, Psycho the Clown plummeted from the top shelf, knocking me to the ground in the most terrifying of ways. If my memories serve me well, the incident looked something like this…

Well played, Jason and Lisa… Jerks.

The young roomie-pranking fellow in this video suffers a similar fate, karmically speaking. No clowns involved, mind you, so he should consider himself more than fortunate.

Ducks. Not only do they make terrible accountants, they make terrible police officers too.

In the below dash cam footage, a police officer is in hot pursuit of a speeding vehicle. Just when it looks like the police car is about to catch up, a family of ducks decide to help the officer out by forming a barricade. But the ducks are unable to determine which car is which, and so they accidentally block the path of the police vehicle instead, thus allowing the speeder to get away.

Remember in Ghostbusters II when that weird slime was flowing through the sewers underneath the streets of New York City?

This is probably as close as you’re going to get to that in real life, except that it has nothing to do with the supernatural (probably) and takes places in Nanjing instead of NYC.

On May 12, the substance you can see above starting oozing out of a crack in the street. Nobody knew what it was at first, but apparently it looked somewhat like marshmallow – a dirty, smelly marshmallow that you couldn’t even make smores with.

Authorities have since explained that the substance is used to soften soil for subway construction. That’s all well and good, but they might want to keep better control of it…I’m no structural engineer, but I’m guessing that it might be a bit of an issue if you soften all the soil right underneath a major road.

This here is Mille Lacs Lake, Minnesota. I’ll gloss over the ‘lacs’-is-the-French-word-for-’lake’ redundancy and get straight to the crazy. A few days ago, the sleepy little town was woken up by one of the most unique of all meteorological systems: the near-mythical ice tsunami. It’s a phenomenon that occurs when high winds push in over a large icy lake during a late-season cold snap. The end result is both beautiful and mad creepy. Like a massive, sparkly J.J. Abrams monster crawling toward you at about an inch a second. And once it reaches your home — like it does here — all bets are off, ’cause this thing’s hella strong, yo.

Beneath the embedded video is an image of a similar ice tsunami — one that hit Ochre River a couple of days ago. Despite its slow, lumbering pace, this sucker plowed through homes like an NFL tackle pitted against Mrs. McGreevey’s third grade gym class.

This here is Sam Lapin. A few days ago, he did what we all do after a long day at work: he went home to film a video presentation about Lego Town. Hey, if there’s a better way to unwind, I don’t wanna hear about it.

“What the heck is Lego Town?” you’re possibly asking. Who cares — it’s a town made of Lego or whatever. It doesn’t matter. The point here is it’s boring, and this guy’s friends don’t have the cojones to let him know. Fortunately, his feline pal is a touch more on the blunt side. As such, the furry little critter opts to stage an intervention of sorts. It goes very, very well.
