They say that hindsight is 20/20, but I’m going to go ahead and say that this scheme to smuggle drugs into the good ol’ US of A was fairly harebrained.
Using duct-tape (which I guess really can be used for everything), two women mocked up a pair snazzy cocaine diapers, stuffing their haul of drugs under multiple protective layers of tape. Based on the photos, it looks like the duct-tape diapers did a fairly decent job, and probably even made the trip from the Dominica Republic a bit more comfortable, with extra padding shielding their rears from the harsh realities of economy class seating.
Maybe they would have gotten away with it too, if wasn’t for those meddling border security cops and their pesky drug-sniffing dogs. But, they didn’t as the dogs smelled the goods and then the jig was soon up.
In total, they were caught with 6.5 kilos of cocaine, and are probably in for a significant stint in jail.
