At 165 minutes, The Dark Knight Rises ain’t exactly a short film. Which might lead you to believe there’d be scant outtakes available. A fair guess, but no, my friend. Allow us to present eight glorious minutes of extra footage. And best of all, the lion’s share of it goes to everyone’s favourite face-challenged supervillian: Bane.
After viewing this compilation, one thing’s for certain: Bane’s character will feel more fleshed out than ever. His thoughts, needs, motivations — all shall come into focus with a previously unseen clarity. Admittedly, the skeptic in you may question whether the dialogue attributed to these scenes is in fact legitimate. I ask you to resist this urge. Place your cynicism aside and soak in the real warts-and-all Bane, the way he was meant to be seen. You’ll be glad you did.
